Joining sentences using "And"

Today, my daughter's home work was about joining sentences using "And". For example "Susan bought eggs. Susan bought milk" can be combined as "Susan bought eggs and milk". She had a few easy ones like this and then she had the following:
"George threw the garbage away. George cleaned the house".
Guess what she did; she combined these two  as "George threw the garbage and the house"
